Office chair
and furniture safety
no we do not often think of
safety when thinking about office chairs or furniture. If we do think about
safety, it's more about the safety of our dollar. Research shows that office
chairs can hold safety hazards. If you think about it, when we sit down we
release all of our weight onto the chair, fully expecting it to hold our
weight. Although most injuries sustained are usually minor and easily
treated, we would be wise to prevent it from happening in the first place.
Here are some basic precautions to take:
1. When assembly of a new chair is required, be sure to follow the
instructions to the letter. The assembly may seem more straight-forward than
it really is.
2. During assembly, take special care with the casters / wheels. Make sure
they are properly fitted to the base. As far as possible, you should
purchase only chairs with a 5-legged base. They considerably more stable and
often are more durable.
3. Chair maintenance does not have to take up a lot of time. Simply check
the components of your chair every 6 months or so - especially the
adjustable parts - and make sure they are tightened properly.

Buying teak furniture
When buying teak online look for sites that accept Visa or MasterCard. In
this way if the seller does not ship the product or gives you a hard time,
you can contact the credit card company and have them reverse the charges or
force the company to ship the product..
Conversely if they have a
negative shopping experience they may vent their gut.
Official online surveys of teak undertaken by their peers don't always tell
the real story. That's why we go to the mini blinds newsgroups. Moderated
forums also provides useful information but it can be sanitized and
therefore of limited value. The no pulling of punches style in the
newsgroups is often closer to the truth.
