fairly new on the market, may be an attractive option. Although many
synthetic products contain the word "wood" in their name, most of
them contain no wood at all. Instead, they are composed of faux
(false) wood. Poly shutters are manufactured from nonrenewable
resources. Synthetic window shutters made from stock-size components
have few or no custom options. They look like plastic and feel like
plastic. If you tap them with a finger, they sound like plastic.
They come in a range of light colors and cannot be stained. Although
they cost less to make and therefore to buy, they are heavy and may
sag after a time.
How can glass be insulated and still let sunlight in and allow us

two or more pieces of glass sealed together to form an airtight
center. They stopped most of the heat from escaping in the winter
